Petrol Jel™

Petrol Jel™ is a liquid gelling agent designed to thicken fuels used in prescribed burning. Petrol Jel™ is specifically formulated to be used at one 4-litre container per 45 Imp/gals of fuel. Setting of the product in the container is normal. Petrol Jel™ goes back into solution very easily when the container is shaken before use.

Petrol Jel™ sets up very quickly especially in warm fuels and may take up to 30 minutes in very cold fuels. Under normal conditions, there is no need to pre-mix Petrol Jel™ until the burn is confirmed.

MIXING

1. Ensure mixing drum is clean.
2. Agitate the Petrol Jel™ container until the mixture is smooth.
3. Add one 4 litre container of Petrol Jel™ to 45 Imp. Gallons of fuel. Stir gently while adding Petrol Jel™.
4. Stir mixture gently after all Petrol Jel™ has been added and allow to set up.

Mixtures using Petrol Jel™ do not need to be prepared in advance under normal conditions. The first mixture does not need to be started until the burn is confirmed.

Both SureFire and Petrol Jel™ can be mixed with various fuels including straight gas, Jet B, diesel or a gas/diesel mix. For best results, straight gas is preferred.
