FIRE-TROL® 936

FIRE-TROL® 934 and 936 are long-term retardants in liquid concentrate form. As liquids, they offer ease of mixing, handling and storing, and provide excellent stability without the caking and lumping associated with powdered products.

FIRE-TROL® 934 and 936 have proven effective in building fire lines along existing roads where application can be performed from fire engines. In areas being fire-proofed prior to prescribed burning or during times of high fire danger, either fire engines, slip-on tankers, or backpack pumps can provide excellent coverage on light and compact fuel types.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

DESCRIPTION

FIRE-TROL® 934 and 936 are liquid concentrates consisting of:

  • ammonium polyphosphate
  • corrosion inhibitor
  • wetting agent
  • biodegradable dye (936 only)

These products are specifically designed for ground application. The wetting agent assures even fuel coating and aids penetration into fuels. The biodegradable dye allows treated areas to be readily identified.

PROPERTIES

Mix Ratio: 5 to 15 litres of water to 1 litre of concentrate, depending on type of fuel, fuel loading, and fire intensity.

Density: 1.40 kg/litre concentrate

1.06 kg/litre - when mixed @ 5.5:1

Yield: (depends on mix ratio of water to concentrate)

5:1 = 4,474 litres/tonne

7:1 = 5,727 litres/tonne

10:1 = 7,875 litres/tonne

15:1 = 11,454 litres/tonne

Viscosity: <1,700 CPS in concentrate form <50 CPS when mixed

PACKAGING

Bulk (tanks), 205 litre drums or 20 litre pails.

MIXING

FIRE-TROL® 934 and 936 both mix readily with water, either with simple in-line mixing or with an agitator.

STORAGE

Both concentrates can be stored for 12 months or longer, without significant loss of effectiveness. Prior to use, they should be stirred or recirculated.
